The North Oakland Concert Band is dedicated to enriching our community through exceptional musical performances, fostering musical excellence among our members, and providing accessible cultural experiences for audiences throughout Southeast Michigan.

Our History
Founded in 1978, the North Oakland Concert Band has been a cornerstone of musical excellence in Southeast Michigan for almost five decades. What began as a small group of dedicated musicians has grown into one of Michigan's leading wind ensembles, comprising more than 80 talented performers.
With deep roots in the Lake Orion and Oxford area, NOCB has performed countless concerts, bringing joy and cultural enrichment to thousands of audience members. Our repertoire spans classical masterworks, contemporary compositions, film scores, and popular music, ensuring there's something for everyone in our performances.
Throughout our history, we've been privileged to work with exceptional conductors and guest artists, and we've performed in venues ranging from intimate church halls to grand concert auditoriums. Our commitment to musical excellence and community service remains as strong today as it was in our founding year.
The band continues to evolve, embracing new musical styles while honoring traditional concert band repertoire. We're proud of our legacy and excited about the future of live music in our community.
Leadership
Music Director
Annette Kline has been the music director of the North Oakland Concert Band since 1988. She brings a passion for wind ensemble literature to every rehearsal and performance.
Board of Directors
Our volunteer board handles operations, fundraising, and strategic planning to support the band's mission.
